Ed had been employed at the Herald-Palladium, Conran's Stained Glass, and Whirlpool Corporation in St. Joseph, and was currently employed at Meijer in Benton Harbor as the manager of the meat department. He played football while attending Lakeshore, and served as president of the student council at LMC. George retired from management at Whirlpool Corporation in 1984, at which time he and Sophie moved back to Norway. He was an avid hunter and outdoorsman who loved spending time at his deer hunting cabin which he named "Sonny's Boondocks." He made many wonderful memories there with his friends and family.
