    Longs buys 2 old Star Markets  Nov 11, 2009
    The Rhode Island-based company, which bought Longs Drug Stores in 2008, will open Longs stores in place of the old Star Markets, CVS said Tuesday in a news release. Both of the supermarkets recently closed. (Pacific Business News, HI)

    Times on its Web site disclosed that it plans to sell Star's Mo'ili'ili and 'Ewa Beach stores to CVS, the owner of Longs Drug Stores, in a deal that is expected to cost a significant number of Star employees their jobs.
