Niles citizens still unhappy with trash pick-up Aug 10, 2009
Residents expressed concerns at last week's town board meeting about the large trash bin that's been set up at the town highway department building for residents who are not being served by Casella Waste Systems, the firm that has the current garbage pick-up contract in the town. The trash bin had been set up in the area of Plunkie Point and Appletree Point roads, where Casella had refused to send its trucks because it said the roads were too dangerous. (Auburn Citizen, NY)

Boston to begin no-sort recycling program July 1 Jun 24, 2009
Boston began considering a conversion from its dual-stream system, in which paper and plastic items are separated, to a single-stream system when its recycling processor, Casella Waste Systems of Rutland, Vt. said it would be utilizing its materials recovery facility to separate the mixed items, said Susan Cascino, the city s recycling director.
