Pier 66 wants to add 65 condos Mar 18, 2007
Pier 66 was acquired in 2005 by Blackstone Group, as part of the $1 billion purchase of Boca Resorts Inc. Since then, about $14 million has been budgeted for improvements, including $10 million for room renovations. The pool areas have been relandscaped and the lounge atop the hotel's 17-story tower, which once was open to the public, became a private banquet facility as part of a $2 million renovation.
